Alternative Senior Care Caregiver Appreciation Night
ASC Staff gathered on November 6th at the Depot Restaurant in Alexandria to celebrate our wonderful staff. We had a lovely meal and prize drawings. We honored our staff’s milestones. Some of the highlights were for Vonni Degeest and Carissa Becker have 5 years, Mary Olmsheid has 10 years, and Deb Cuff has 15 years. Also, we honored staff members Renee Blenker and Leona Bowman, both with 19 years of tenure!
One very special award that is given in Honor of our founder’s parents and Paula’s grandparents, Ed and Betty Schneider, and Bernice Karasch. It is the Commemorative Award!
This year, the award was presented to Adam DuVall
As a former Army Chaplain and Veteran, Adam brings a unique perspective and skillset to his role, constantly going above and beyond. He is also a Pastor and has authored many books. He had a deep desire to encourage the staff and had several experiences in which he felt he wanted to honor his clients. Adam decided to author a book in their honor: “The Lessons from the Frontline Caregiver”. This was used for staff training and inspiration.
He explains it best in his book: “caregiving is not always about the hard work or the medical stuff. Sometimes it’s about the laughs, the unexpected moments, and the joy you can find in the smallest things.”
With wisdom, strength, and experience, he gives so much of himself to others. He has genuine joy! Any task is done with great care and consideration. He treats each client as a friend and protects and defends their dignity. He allows God to pour in and through him daily, and I am He is proud and some days very amused with Adam. Adam is greatly gifted and humble to use these gifts anywhere. “‘Well done, good and faithful servant’ is displayed in the life of Adam Duvall” – Lainie Berg, owner of Alternative Senior Care
