You’re invited! Dementia Training May 11th, 2017 in Alexandria, MN
Please join us at Edgewood Vista in Alexandria MN for Dementia Training on May 11.
Dementia is a devastating disease. Family members and friends of those experiencing memory loss find themselves immersed in an ocean of uncertainty.
At Alternative Senior Care, memory loss/dementia care is one of our specialties. You’re invited to join us for our annual dementia training event. Each year, Alternative Senior Care conducts memory loss training for our personal assistants. We’re opening this four-hour educational session to the public and other professionals who work with dementia clients.
In this workshop, you will:
- Discover the world of Dementia by understanding how people with Dementia experience their world. Understanding their world helps us to provide quality care.
- Learn the challenges language presents. Dementia robs people of their ability to use language. We can provide support through different means of communication that lead to satisfying interactions.
- Learn Positive Approach to Care, Hand under Hand Philosophy and Process by Teepa Snow. These techniques will enhance interaction and reduce negative reactions.
Who should attend:
- Family members or friends of someone with dementia (free)
